Tees Maar Khan Hindi Movie Review
Farah Khan knows exactly what she wants (rather what she can get) from her cast and employs them to that effect. With her trademark film-inside-film setting, when she wants someone to play the role of a boisterous, atrocious and artificial actor in her film, the natural choice is Akshaye Khanna.

Katrina is cast as the quintessential Bollywood actress who has to wear more makeup and less clothes and do practically nothing in the film. The biggest novel (rather navel) factor she brings to the film is her super-sexy midriff and her hip-hot gyrations. With Akshay Kumar coming into picture, Farah seems to leave behind her Manmohan Desai masala method and adapts her film to brother Sajid Khan’s slapstick sensibilities.Ten minutes into the film and Tees Maar Khan (Akshay Kumar) is introduced in the league of two other chindi chors, though he makes claims of being an international crime master. His latest assignment is to loot a locomotive loaded with valuables worth crores. Since the booty is in bulk, he would need help from many hands.Khan hatches a plan to shoot a fictitious film in a village from where the train passes and use the oblivious villagers to rob the train. He lures superstar Aatish Kapoor (Akshaye Khanna), who aims for an Oscar Award, into his mock movie and casts his wannabe-actress girlfriend Anya (Katrina Kaif) as the leading lady.

Remade from Vittorio De Sica’s 1966 film ‘Caccia Alla Volpe’ (After the Fox) starring Peter Sellers, the only major innovation that Tees Maar Khan shows is to shift tracks to train theft from the ship in the original. While the climactic train heist could have worked as a smart suspense element in the favour of the film, the entire fabricated film formula is revealed at the very onset, leaving nothing to your imagination.Also it appears too far-fetched that a filmstar like Aatish Kapoor won’t comprehend that this one-take shoot, filmed by a single handheld camera is a hoax for heist. Unfortunately the audiences are not as gullible as the villagers in this film.The Academy Awards and its Bollywood aspirants (from Aamir Khan to Anil Kapoor) seem to be the butt of most jokes here. The film emphasizes and also employs the widespread sentiment of how a poverty-stricken India has become a perfect recipe for Oscar wannabes.

Farah however takes things a little too far with a literal Oscar Award setting in the final reels. Also this time around Farah Khan seems to have gone slack on her signature spoofs, which were a highlight of both Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om. Even her trademark end credits are not much inventively conceptualized or different from her earlier attempts.On the contrary, the film retains a more fervent feel and flavour of Akshay Kumar brand of loud and slapstick comedy. Akshay’s gags are dreary and add to it the other Akshaye’s antics are deafening. And if that is not enough there is a recap of all these histrionics in the climax as a part of the film inside the film setting.

Akshaye Khanna could win the Ham Scene of the Year award for getting possessed by his character in the bank robbery sequence. Then there’s a headless horseman’s anecdote which could make you feel ‘sleepy’ for its ‘hollowness’.The dialogues written by Shirish Kunder and Ashmith Kunder in synchronized stanzas try too hard to be funny but fall flat at most instances and are repeated too often without much repeat value. Vishal Shekhar’s music has mass appeal. Farah Khan’s raunchy choreography to Sheila Ki Jawani has Katrina Kaif at her sexiest best. One expected some action in the train robbery sequence but there’s none over here.

The role is custom-made for Akshay Kumar and while he plays it effortlessly, he is clearly getting repetitive in his comic act. Katrina Kaif is categorically hired for her sex-appeal and she exudes loads of it. Akshaye Khanna is expected to act terribly and he does that with such perfection that it gets on your nerves.Apara Mehta makes up as a cheap imitation of Kirron Kher. Arya Babbar gets no scope. You never get to know whether Avatar Gill’s character is a spinoff on A K Hangal from Sholay or he plays a blind man for no good reason. Aman Verma hams. Salman Khan invites whistles and claps in his cameo.To sum up in Tees Maar Khan’s trademark style of dialogue delivery, Akshay Kumar se zara hatke comedy expect karna aur Akshaye Khanna se kuch bhi expect karna bekaar hain. Tees Maar Khan doesn’t even guarantee thirty good laughs in its three hour runtime.

Bharata Natyam dance Gayatri (Kamalinee Mukherjee) wins a painting as a gift for her performance. The painting belongs to Chandramukhi and soon things shake up in Gayatri’s family! Kandahar is one of the most awaited films from the Mollywood industry this year not only because it deals with a hard hitting storyline of the true incident of the hijack of the Indian Airlines flight 814, but also because it brings together two powerhouse actors from Indian cinema Mohanlal and Amitabh Bachchan.Although the hijacking incident took place when the Indian Airlines Airbus A300 was flying from Kathmandu to the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, the Major Ravi project has been primarily shot in the cities of Ooty and New Delhi in India. However all aerial shots showing the aeroplane midair have been taken in Russia. While the performances are wonderful, it is the locations which have taken our breath away.

Every actor, especially Mohanlal, Amitabh Bachchan and Ganesh Venkatraman do justice to their roles and the fact that Big B did not accept a single rupee for the project in spite of being offered a huge amount just goes to show how much these actors are dedicated towards films that bear a social message. Mohanlal doubles up as producer of ‘Kandahar’ and going by the critics’ reviews, he will surely recover his money very quickly.The surprise element in ‘Kandahar’ is the music of the Malayalam movie. Shamir Tandon’s compositions will touch your heart. Every song is aptly placed in the film. Though the narrative style may seem to drag in certain portions of the film, it is good news for the Kollywood and Bollywood that ‘Kandahar’ will soon be dubbed in Hindi and Tamil.

Tron Legacy Movie Review.
In the 28 years it took for “Tron: Legacy” to reach your local Theater or IMAX screen, Communism fell, Al Gore invented the Internet and discovered global warming, and the idea of a movie based around video games became less of a “WTF”. The original “Tron”, for me, was always elusive. Every now and then I'd catch a half hour here, twenty minutes there, always on late night TV, but never had I seen the entire film.This did not stop me from engorging myself on the Sequel. This movie is the visuals, and they deliver. They deliver in so many ways it's impossible to describe. For all the awards and praise Avatar received for amazing special effects, I enjoyed “Tron: Legacy” more. “Tron: Legacy” felt like a high stakes adventure, whereas Avatar felt like a message picture with some action scenes thrown in.

Actually, the “Avatar” comparisons don't stop there. Both feature characters transported into a mystical faraway world. While “Avatar”'s was essentially a giant jungle we've all seen before with floating rocks, the world of “Tron:Legacy” was fun. It's a dystopian, techno trash, acid trip, playground, with sleek shiny black skyscrapers and hidden levels upon levels. Flying cars? Yep! Weird “N” shaped enemy ships? Sure! Shifting Gravity? Of course! Michael Sheen from “Frost/Nixon” with a pimp cane and eyeliner? Why not!

And, also, spectacular decapitations abound! The way people die in this movie is just splendid. Whenever anyone meets their untimely end in “Tron: Legacy”, they explode into this red, blue, or yellow technomush, their faces pausing just a half a second so we can see the look of anguish on the face of the fallen.Jeff Bridges is the second name on the marquee behind the visual effects, and in general I was impressed by the acting all around. I mean, really all anyone in this movie has to do is be able to look convincingly sad, angry, or amazed (sometimes all at once), but I kept wondering who Garrett Hedlund was, and where I had seen him, because he's actually really good.

By about the halfway point, The Daft Punk heavy electronica score gets you, the visuals get you, and you're dialed in, you care about the characters, what's going to happen, maybe even on the edge of your seat a little bit. Then it ends...and your disappointed. Not by the sort of weak climax, but because stepping out of the theater means stepping into the the real world. Where 3D glasses don't work the way they should, the good and bad guys aren't color coded, and even Chicago's skyline seems flat.

Manasara Full Movie Review.
The only factors which attracted movie lovers towards this ‘Manasara’ project are the name of Ravi Babu and the innovative trailers which sent vibrations in theatres. Known for his creative thinking and modern approach of story telling, Ravi Babu dealt all kinds of subjects and again this time he concentrated on soft love of a cute pair. Let us see how wholehearted was this ‘Manasara’ attempt?

In the Movie Manasara: Vikram (Vikram) is a degree pass out with innocent and timid attitude towards life. His father (Krishna Mohan) is a bank manager who gets transferred to Rajappalayam in Kerala, a place where modern thinking and technology have no place. This is a traditional village where every small issue is solved by their customary Kalari Peetadhipathis based on the competition between opponent parties in ‘Kalari Payattu,’ the traditional martial art of Kerala.

Vikram’s family become tenants in the house of Krishnan Kutti (Bhanuchander) and as soon as Vikram enters into the village, falls in love with Anjali (Sree Divya). Here is the point as Anjali has her own flashback where in she is ill treated daily in the hands of her step mother, father Veera Bhadra (Rama Raju) and brother-in-law Rajan Pillai (George Vincent), a champion in Kalari Payattu.

Obviously Vikram and Anjali fall in love and cruel Rajan Pillai becomes a hurdle. Time when this cowardly Vikram and his family is thrown away from village for loving their local girl, Krishnan Kutti explains his flash back love failure and instills courage in Vikram to win his love. Now, Peetadhipathis decide to conduct the Kalari fighting competition between Vikram and Rajan Pillai to choose the right partner for Anjali. How is Anjali connected to Krishnan Kutti, did Vikram win the Kalari fight competition for his love, what happened to Rajan Pillai and Anjali’s step mother form the final episodes.

Values of the Movie Manasara: Ravi Babu carried on his legacy of difference in story telling by selecting the Kerala and Kalari backdrop. Story wise, we might find this as a regular love story with mix of Jayam, Jai, Thammudu and other Hollywood Kick Boxing flicks yet Ravi Babu’s clever technique of dealing in his own style makes all the difference. Dialogues by Paruchuri Brothers were also a neat mix of their regular style with Ravi Babu. Script by Satyanand looked quite good in first half and became weak in second half with no engrossing movements. Life of this entire movie is packed in two departments and they are Cinematography of Sudhakar Reddy and Music from Sekhar Chandra. Both of them raised the feel of movie to a new level with their top class work. Editing by Marthand K Venkatesh was smooth in first half and sluggish in second half. Art Work department has also done good work. Production values of Moving Images and Prakash Babu were quite trendy and apt to this kind of story.

Performance wise Vikram is not that handsome and not a conventional hero material but he suited well to the character of Vikram. Especially his dialogue delivery helped the character to establish an image. Heroine Sri Divya looks cute and sweet with strong features which suited to her character of next door girl. Coming from TV background, Sri Divya was a cool fit in the movie. Veteran Bhanuchander has got a lengthy role to excel both performance and martial arts wise. George Vincent with wild instincts fared well as best villain and he sure can be looked forward in near future. Others Rama Raju, Annapurna find prominent roles and comedy part was successful with Krishna Mohan and Usha Sri.

Out of the Movie Manasara: Drawing inspiration from Hollywood flicks is not new for industry and Ravi Babu is already an expert in it. The way he added the Kerala nativity and Kalari flavor to a regular love story is impressive. The major credits for offering a new feel for this entire movie goes to Cinematography and Music departments. First half has good entertaining stuff and two beautiful songs (Parava Ledu… and Nuvvila…) made youth to go in loud whistles for lyrical excellence, sweet compositions and brilliant presentation on the screen where we see Ravi Babu making a cameo appearance. Love episodes between the lead pair in first half were wonderfully picturized. Hope that Sri Divya’s career doesn’t end up as other girls whom Ravi Babu introduced. Second half has nothing enthusiastic movements except the professional ballad style used in narration of Bhanuchander’s flash back and a regular climax culminating in Kalari. Best point of movie is that Kerala backdrop and heroine Sri Divya’s strong and sweet features which will haunt you even after leaving the theatre.

No Problem Full Movie Review.
Great news for Anees Bazmee fans! The writer-turned-director is back with yet-another out-and-out comedy flick ‘No Problem’ after delivering three super-duper smash hits, ‘Singh Is Kinng’, ‘Welcome’, and ‘No Entry’. Boasting of a huge multi-talented star cast, the movie has been co-produced by veteran actor-turned-producer Anil Kapoor, along with Dr. Bhupendra Kumar Modi and Rajat Rawail, under the banner of Anil Kapoor Film Company, Spice Studios Entertainment Ltd., and Rawail Grandsons Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. The film, however, is distributed by Eros International Media Ltd. Pritam Chakraborty has composed the music of this flick. ‘No Problem’ is slated for a 10th December, 2010 release.

Childhood friends, Yash (Sanjay Dutt) and Raj (Akshaye Khanna) are small time crooks. Raj desires to leave the world of crime and lead a normal life, but alas, Yash manages to jeopardize his chances and closes all doors for Raj’s exit. Anyways, the two manage to rob First Village Bank which falls under the innocent and honest bank manager, Zandulal (Paresh Rawal). As expected, Zandulal is also accused on the pretext of sheltering Yash and Raj in his home the previous night. Zandulal pledges to return with evidence to prove his innocence. Meanwhile, Arjun Singh (Anil Kapoor) is an inept and blundering cop, married to Kajal (Sushmita Sen), daughter of police commissioner (Shakti Kapoor).

However, destiny seems to be on Arjun’s side as he manages to nab a big-time gangster Marcos (Suniel Shetty). As for his personal life, his wife is struck with a unique split personality disorder. Since years, she transforms into a terrifying maniac with the intent to murder her husband, for 10 minutes every day. Coming back to Yash and Raj who find endless ways to avoid and escape from Zandulal, ignorant of the fact that they are actually neighbors. To add a light and romantic break to their chaotic journey, Raj falls in love with Sanjana (Kangana Ranaut), Kajal’s younger sister. A robbery and murder takes place in the town.

Who is the victim and who are the murderers forms the rest of the story. With each character chasing the other one to catch hold of the prime suspects, prove his innocence, and steal the treasure, the plot gets more side-splitting, and riotous. Taking into consideration the glorious track record, Anees Bazmee’s next venture promises outright fun, adventure, and comedy, all packed with problems and troubles. Black Swan Full Movie Review :Black Swan is the story of how a ballerina takes her dancing from brilliant to even better, which is not much of a journey by anyone's standards.With so little to work with, and only one dimensional characters to tell the tale, this film flails around for two arduous hours, much like a dying swan, with only the fall of the curtain to put it out of its misery.

Nina (Natalie Portman) is a ballerina whose life is completely consumed with dance, and when Thomas Leroy (Vincent Cassel) decides to replace his prima ballerina for his next Swan lake production, Nina is his first choice.Although Nina is the perfect white swan, she struggles to create the passion needed to depict the black swan and is faced with constant criticism from her artistic director.The cleverly cut trailer of this film makes it look like a psychological thriller, which is totally misleading. It's actually an extremely dark, slow paced drama, with some ludicrous scenes thrown in to try and create tension that simply does not exist.

An example of this is when Nina visits the ex-prima ballerina in hospital. Loud 'Swan Lake' music plays as she lifts the sheet, inch by inch, to look at the ballerina's legs, which she already knows are damaged.The music gets louder and louder until she sees some bleeding cuts and then she runs out, accompanied by a musical crescendo. This scene contributes nothing to the story and only serves to illuminate how lame the writing really is.

Much of what happens lacks logic. Nina's mother initially suffocates, then sabotages, then she's supportive.At one stage Nina appears to have been sexually liberated but later this is contradicted. She is initially neurotic, possibly self-harming and then becomes psychotic, but it's never clear what has really happened to her and what she has imagined happened.But the most unenjoyable aspect of this film is Nina herself. She is eternally miserable, subservient, fearful and usually on the verge of/in tears.Even when she is made the prima ballerina she is angst-ridden and weepy and it makes you wonder how she'd have reacted if she had won the lottery. Not with joy, for sure.

The greatest director in the world can't save a bad script, but Darren Aronofsky, could have at least got Nina to crack a smile once in a while, and not picking up on something this obvious shows a complete lack of perception.Aronofsky also directed the brilliantly written and performed Wrestler, which brings his contribution into question and also questions how over rated directors really are. Perhaps if the entertainment industry were to stop spelling their title with a capital 'D' , they might not all be quite so puffed up.

Story : Movie is set up in a basti or small colony, this is a story about Vijay and Yakub, who intend on ruling the entire basti when they grow up. Sharman Joshi and Faruk Kabir play the two driving forces of the plot with a deep understanding of their characters and the milieu. Both seem to have got right their characters’ physicality and then proceed to explore their inner worlds. For a first-time actor and director, Faruk Kabir handles both his jobs with more than a reasonable amount of compelling confidence.Chemistry between Sharman and Anjana is nice.

Break Ke Baad Movie Review : It seems to be that breaking up and making up is all the rage this season, and the film Break ke Baad is a movie which shows how a couple who has grown up together, faces trouble and deals with it by breaking up. Debut director Danish Aslam has tried his level best to show a situation where a couple breaks up for good, and a relationship has come to a point where distance is essential.

The story revolves around the period after the break up and what happens to the couple once they do decide to be apart and subsequently Abhay decides to get married to someone else.Danish Aslam is good in his direction; picking up details and making the characters come alive. Imran Khan still has a problem with acting and at times he is wooden, but overall tolerable. But it is Deepika Padukone who steals this particular show and makes the character of Aaliya come alive. This movie also becomes a good watch thanks to a good supporting cast played by veteran actors like Naveen Nischol, Sharmila Tagore and Lilette Dubey. A nice movie, though the story is a tad predictable.
