The Result of Ayodhya verdict in the Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute will decide whether the 2.7 acres of disputed land on which the Babri Masjid stood before it was demolished on December 6, 1992, belongs to the Sunni Central Waqf Board or to the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha.the Supreme Court on Tuesday, Chief Justice of India HS Kapadia read out a one-line order to reject the petition of retired bureaucrat Ramesh Chand Tripathi, who had sought that the verdict be deferred and the matter be settled through reconciliation. Justice Kapadia said, “Having considered the detailed arguments advanced in this cases, we are of the view that the special leave petitions deserve to be dismissed.The court heard arguments for over two-and-a-half hours before announcing its order. The decision of the three-judge bench – comprising Chief Justice Kapadia, Justice Aftab Alam and Justice KS Radhakrishnan – was unanimous.
The Centre has, meanwhile, appealed to people of the nation to keep calm once the judgement is announced. Both Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi have issued appeals

We can't even begin to imagine how this poor teen must have felt.Why anyone would do that to someone else is beyond us.Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and loved ones. While his parents go to work, he sees a team of burglars invading the neighborhood houses; in fact, they're spies, looking for a toy containing a stolen microchip. The inevitability of the finale--one kid holding off four professionals with toys and garden tools--will do nothing to lessen the amusement of youngsters, who love to see the bad guys get creamed. Right from the point the rock elements set in, Hairat Hai has you caught on with its ultra-addictive arrangement. Lucky Ali has of late been doing a good job of moving away from the soft melodies that he once used to be once associated with, to a boring extent, and Hairat.. surely is one of his best songs in recent times. The title song, the Shilpa Rao-Vishal Dadlani version, strongly reminds one of Khuda Jaane in more places than one, but is thoroughly entertaining, especially with its alternating ambient melody-rock modes. Brilliant job by the vocalists, especially the ethereal-sounding Shilpa. Vishal-Shekhar have always excelled when it comes to tribute compositions to R D Burman, and here too in the second version of the title song (the one which accompanies the trailers), though largely evocative of their previous tributes like Tak Dhina Dhin from Aladin, makes for a good listen, primarily owing to the exuberant rendition by Nikhil D’Souza and Monali Thakur. Nevertheless, among the two, I pick version 1.
Things take a slight dip with Aas Paas Khuda, here the duo’s arrangement not proving enough to mitigate the deja vu-ishness. Rahat Fateh Ali handles the vocals, producing the usual results. The unplugged version is an improvement, Shruti Pathak along with Rahat provide some interesting segments with their vocal brilliance, but the base tune becomes this one’s undoing as well. The composers bounce back with Tumse Hi Tumse though, Shekhar and Caralisa Monteiro crooning to a breezy orchestration. The bounce-back continues in its upward direction with an even better Tujhe Bhula Diya, Shruti Pathak giving an excellent semi-classical start which is then carried forward by Mohit Chauhan to create another wonderfully packaged melody punctuated by occasional qawwali segments rendered by Shekhar. The remix, though decently done, is a pale shadow of the original. Vishal returns with Shilpa Rao to deliver the final track of the album, I Feel Good, which despite its SEL-esque youthfulness in arrangement, justifies its title with an overall feel good-ness.A quintessential Vishal-Shekhar album – youthful, entertaining, and very Vishal-Shekhar-esque.. Five wonderful tunes out of the seven original tracks.. Anjaana Anjaani is an excellent follow-up to the duo’s work in I Hate Luv Storys.

Easy A Hollywood Movie Review : Too often, youth-centric entertainment only perpetuates the perceived importance of popularity and the assumption that one’s virgin status is some adolescent ailment that must be shed before adulthood. Will Gluck’s Easy A is the satirical alternative, cleverly exaggerating those teenage truths and genre cliches through snarky, self-referential humor.The adorable Emma Stone plays Olive, a plucky, precocious high schooler whose white lie about an imaginary tryst with a college student circulates through the campus, transforming a below-the-radar bookworm into the school slut. Relishing her newfound attention, Olive keeps up the charade by parading around in corsets and staging fake liaisons to help the dweebs and closeted gays. But she doesn’t actually do anything risque, other than trade rumors for gift cards.

Fed up with her reputation, Olive broadcasts a webcam confession, an overt reference to the YouTube generation, to no one in particular, detailing the various stages of this salacious rumor with well-written flashbacks. Along the way, screenwriter Bert V. Royal integrates slick parallels to Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter, a book most of us begrudgingly read in high school about sin and guilt in the 17th century.Olive seeks advice from her busty best friend (Alyson Michalka), her concerned English teacher (Thomas Haden Church), a hysterical guidance counselor (Lisa Kudrow), and her refreshingly screwball parents (Stanley Tucci and Patricia Clarkson).The adult supporting cast is witty, yet underdeveloped, making this primarily “The Emma Stone Show,” which is excusable because she’s charismatic enough to carry the movie and plenty skilled at delivering snappy, sarcastic dialogue. Stone occasionally flashes her green eyes or performs a sassy, slow-motion strut, but it’s her brainy attitude that makes Olive a consistently entertaining presence.

Easy A - Emma StoneGluck’s casual style masks a healthy derision of its “teen sex comedy” sub-genre, referencing counter-cliche classics like Can’t Buy Me Love and those of the late, great John Hughes, while mostly skirting the banalities of an over-sexed group. Hormone-addled characters still exist, of course, but not as a means for raunchy humor — no one is humping a pie — so much as caricatures of walking libidos or emphatically chaste Christians like Amanda Bynes‘ Marianne.Underneath all the faux promiscuity is a valuable message that popularity is fleeting and sexuality is a complicated choice. Luckily Easy A is PG-13 because it deserves to be appreciated by a younger-skewing crowd, like Mean Girls or other Hughesian hits.

Life Express Movie Review ; I've often been asked, what makes a film different from another film bearing a similar storyline? My reply is, the execution of the subject makes all the difference. Recall DOOSRI DULHAN. Now recall CHORI CHORI CHUPKE CHUPKE. The issue - surrogate motherhood - isn't new, but if handled expertly, it would make for an interesting viewing. Sadly, LIFE EXPRESS fails and fails miserably.

The serious issue has been tackled carelessly, callously and amateurishly and for this reason, it comes across as an exercise in boredom. In fact, the film falls flat at the screenplay level itself and since the direction [Anup Das] is equally unimaginative, even the talented actors in the cast fail to redeem the enterprise.
LIFE EXPRESS tells the story of an urban couple, Tanvi [Rituparna Sengupta] and Nikhil [Kiran Janjani], who have no time to spend with each other or start a family. It also tells the story of Mohan [Yashpal Sharma] and Gauri [Divya Dutta], who lead a poverty-ridden life in a village.

The ambitious Tanvi aborts the plans of having a baby since she feels that the impending pregnancy will make her skip her job for a few months and in turn, she would lose out on the golden opportunities in her career. Subsequently, a common friend suggests the concept of surrogate motherhood and they decide to go for it.
Just when you thought that Hindi cinema is evolving and first-time directors are ready to experiment with hitherto untold stories, a film like LIFE EXPRESS makes you change your opinion. The director had a solid plot on hand, but first the writer ruins it with an impoverished screenplay and subsequently, the director wrecks it by showing no maturity, as far as execution of the material is concerned. In fact, barring the sequence in the end - when Divya makes Rituparna realize the importance of being a mother - the writing is lackadaisical and boring at most places. Besides, the story also unravels at a snail's pace. Who's got the patience? The songs are also a sore point.Rituparna Sengupta is a fine actor, but is bland here. Kiran Janjani is miscast. Divya Dutta is the sole actor who acts convincingly. Yashpal Sharma, as Divya's husband, is okay. Dayashankar Pandey provides some comic relief. Vijayendra Ghatge, Anjan Srivastava and Alok Nath are wasted.
On the whole, LIFE EXPRESS is a lifeless experience.

Mumbai, Sep 10 (Calcutta Tube) Abbas Tyrewala was in Chennai Sunday and Monday, trying to get the last bit of his much-delayed music in ‘Jhootha Hi Sahi‘ in place. The film is just weeks away from its release date of Oct 15 and the master CD is still not in the director’s hands.

The formal music release by Saregama has been postponed until the music is ready. But before that a formal announcement of the music is expected to be made on a music reality show to be recorded Tuesday.The ‘master’ must be ready latest by Monday evening, so that Abbas and composer A.R. Rahman could rush back from Chennai in time to record the show Tuesday. At the time of writing, the music was still not completed.Trying to sound brave and not pressing the panic button, Tyrewala Sunday said from Chennai: ‘I’ve been shuttling between Chennai and Mumbai. Staying awake since Rahman works at nights, I’ve forgotten what jetlag is. I know it’s cutting it close. We are almost done….finally! We just need to add a string section in the soundtrack. I am hopeful tomorrow it will be done and we’ll make it for the show.’

Abbas jumps to the much-beleaguered Rahman’s defence. ‘When you want the pinnacle of excellence in the quality of songs in your film that only Rahman can achieve, then you’re prepared to be patient. Yes, I have had to wait. But it been worth it. Rahman has composed seven songs and two re-mixes. That’s a total of nine tracks.’As for the delay, Abbas defends: ‘What can Rahman do if suddenly three films are all up for release at the same time, my ‘Jhootha Hi Sahi’, Danny Boyle’s ’127 Hours’ and Shankar’s ‘Robot’ are all being readied for release at the same time. Have a heart.’

The Town Hollywood Film Review : Three years after his directorial debut on the gripping drama Gone Baby Gone, Ben Affleck returns with another skillful Bostonian crime thriller, The Town. More confident behind the camera and engaging in front of it, Affleck directs himself as part of a compelling ensemble cast, pulling double duty like his antihero Doug MacRay, a blue collar laborer and the brains of a four-man crew of seasoned bandits.
A title card introduces Charlestown, Mass. as a single square mile that produces more bank and armored car robbers than anywhere else in the world. A small town atmosphere with big city crime, it’s the sort of place where everyone knows everyone else but if they’re asked, they “don’t know nothin.’” The towering Bunker Hill Monument looms over the cramped community, casting a shadow on the modern war below.

In the opening scene MacRay, a second generation thief wearing a ghoulish skull mask, bristles for what he was born to do. Beside him, for better or worse, is his Irish brother-in-arms Jem Coughlin (Jeremy Renner), a smirking, unpredictable thug quick to turn brutally violent despite the two strikes on his public record. In a whirlwind heist reminiscent of Michael Mann’s Heat, the gang storms a local bank, executes their stick-up with precision, and slips out with the bank manager, Claire (the reliable Rebecca Hall), as a hostage.

Worried that she’s seen too much, MacRay tails her, but he’s drawn by her vulnerability and soon strikes up a charming conversation in a local laundromat. Playing the part of a sensitive stranger, he sympathizes with her trauma and supplies plenty of sly wit until they become more intimate than either had planned. In one of her confessions, Claire tells him she would immediately recognize the voices of her masked gunmen. MacRay smiles and replies, “It might be harder than you think.”While the couple are tending to her flower garden (not an euphemism), the infamous foursome is being hunted by Special Agent Adam Frawley (a solid Jon Hamm), a no-nonsense FBI leader and an outsider in the impervious blocks of Charlestown. The suspense builds and the stakes escalate as Frawley closes in on the team. Meanwhile, MacRay slides along the moral spectrum, pulled in opposite directions by his new love and a burning desire to finally escape versus a lifetime of brotherly bonds and rotten genetics.

Affleck portrays the ambivalent MacRay with strength and determination, and with the same hometown swagger he contributed to Good Will Hunting. Jeremy Renner in The TownRenner is a natural, dropping his R’s like he was raised a Townie and boiling with fierce intensity. In supporting roles, Blake Lively delivers a breakout performance as Doug’s trashy ex-flame, Pete Postlethwaite is chilling as “The Florist,” and Chris Cooper is commanding in his single scene.The screenplay, co-written by Affleck and based on the novel “Prince of Thieves” by Chuck Hogan, occasionally feels contrived and tapers towards its conclusion, but plots a riveting series of events, including a white-knuckle car chase through Boston’s labyrinthine streets and a memorable face-off between Affleck and Hamm.Affleck’s sophomore effort is intense, incredible, and further redemptive for an artist taking tremendous strides to reinvent himself.
